For the duration of the summer, I’ll be posting music written specifically for “Zeus”. Some or all of these songs will be included on my next release – “The Zeus Collective”, which will be available for free download upon completion.
Here’s Track 2, an instrumental – “Street Cred (Volcano Casualty)”- from the upcoming “Zeus” soundtrack/ep/score (?):
Quite different from my usual, acoustic-based stuff. I wasn’t shooting for any particular vibe, just something to use for any number of scenes. Believe it or not, the beat sample is a stock clip from the GarageBand library with a couple of effects added. I was tooling around with it sometime last year and figured I’d use it eventually. Well, here it is.
Notes:
- The drones floating around the track are courtesy of Lindsey Glover, who recorded an ep’s worth of ethereal stuff for her senior thesis project a few years back. I thought her first crack at music was quite rad, so I kifed it (thanks, Lindsey).
- Keyboard parts were played on my grandfather’s old Casio, mic’d directly into the Mbox with enough reverb to give the keys some sustain.
